SolarEdge Mobilises the Youth at Solar Decathlon Africa

Perhaps the greatest potential for mitigating the effects of climate change resides within investments in human capital. This is why SolarEdge uses world-class engineering talent and experience to continuously improve the ways we produce and consume energy in order to lead to a better future for us all. SolarEdge, leader in smart energy, manufactures DC optimized inverters, one of its innovations that changed the way power is managed and monitored in PV systems. The system includes a simplified inverter that manages conversion and grid interaction and a power optimizer that is located behind each panel to individually manage and monitor each panel. The SolarEdge intelligent inverter solution maximizes power generation while lowering the cost of energy produced by the PV system, for improved RoI and to help accelerate the rate of PV adoption. Continuing to advance smart energy, SolarEdge addresses a broad range of energy market segments through its PV, storage, EV charging, batteries, UPS, electric vehicle powertrains, and grid services solutions.

We recently reached out to them for fully sponsoring our solar PV inverters and power optimizers. They kindly agreed and will be used in our prototype house that is competing in the first ever African Solar Decathlon in Ben Guerir, Morocco in September 2019.

Their products will be displayed in our net-zero house at the Muhammad VI Polytechnic Solar Village; a historic social and technological experimentation site, aimed at improving social and ecological externalities, through carbon neutral building practices and energy self-sufficiency. Rubicon, who are redistributors of industrial and solar PV technologies in South Africa, have helped make this sponsorship possible and provided us with some solar PV equipment and electrical appliances. Thank you for supporting our teams passion for making the world more ecologically and socially equitable.
